Art of the Brick

And I thought making a castle was doing something. Nathan Sawaya [try saying that 10 times] takes legos and elevates them to a whole new level. And guess what. You do have to go all the way to Prague or Paris to see this guy, because the exhibition's all in AMERICA [sorry lame ass European art hogs]. He's been on tour for about three years or so, but there's still plenty of time left to check it out if you're interested.

There's plenty more right HERE. After you look through a few more photos I promise you'll be thinking the same thing I am.... Who the hell is Dee & Ricky?

My Stickers Are Done

And to be honest, I'm pretty content with the outcome. Now if I were selfish I'd just post the photos and move on with my life but instead I'm going to personally show YOU how to be your own promo street team. Here's everything you'll need...

What you want to be your sticker, white glue, vinegar, scissors, cup/container, and a spoon/brush of some sort.

First things first. Print and cut out your soon to be stickers [I used word to make them]. Color's always better but black and grey'll work just fine.  Rectangles are always easy, and since they match up perfectly with the tape, I suggest going for that.

Next you need to make the adhesive. Add 1 part vinegar to two parts glue [I just used the spoon for measurement]. For about 10 stickers I used 2 spoons of vinegar and 4 of the glue. You could try different combos for better stick, but so far this is what I've got.

OK, NOW REALLY PAY ATTENTION. You're now going to spread on a layer of adhesive onto the backs of your stickers. Once this layer COMPLETELY dries you'll spread on another for security. I don't know the chemistry behind it but after the adhesive dries it becomes "reactivated" when applied with a layer or water. Don't worry we'll get to that in a moment.

Once the stickers are dry to the touch you'll want to stack them under something heavy in order to flatten them out [makes things a lot easier].
You'll now attach the front of the stickers onto the sticky side of the tape. Once done you'll cut around the sticker to remove the excess tape. You do this in order waterproof your stickers and to make them seem a little more "professional," but it's definitely optional.

Here's what you've been waiting for....THE APPLICATION. Make sure you choose a good spot for your sticker because once its bonded it's not coming off without a fight. When you're ready to apply, wet the back of your sticker with a spray bottle or a splash of water [or a little spit if you're in a hurry]. Smooth it out with a napkin [necessary without a spray bottle] and slap it up there.

Once last piece of advice. DON'T GET CAUGHT . I'm sure you know this but yes it is illegal if you don't own the property. As a disclaimer I have to say that I CANNOT ADVICE ILLEGAL ACTIVITY.
[Now go let the world know who you are]

Cudderisback

Now I don't condone weed [or any drug for that matter. STRAIGHT EDGE] but I just couldn't avoid posting this. Kid Cudi  has got to be one of the coolest dudes that I've never met. There are few times where I ride another man's D [no homo] and this just happens to be one of those moments. The song, aptly titled Cudderisback, was released 2 to 3 months ago and I have to say that I've loved it ever since [especially because of VW on the intro. What's up]. Apparently he has another album set to be released around the later months of 2010. Can't wait.

Viktor & Rolf

No matter where I go, or what blog I visit, there's always someone going on about Viktor this, and Rolf that. I never really looked into them too much and then I saw some articles, and some pictures, and some more pictures, and soon enough I was on the Viktor & Rolf train just like everyone else. Here's a glance at their spring/summer 2010 collection. STRAIGHT GENIUS.

I'm not into all a that couture business but apparently I'm missing out. I officially understand why everyone always goes on about Viktor & Rolf.

GPPR

From those who brought you Hellz comes....The Gentleman The Pervert The Philosopher and The Rebel [or just GPPR]. Apparently the ideology behind the line is, get this, for the people by the people. Few times have I felt more at home.

New Fabric New Construction

J. Lindeberg spring/summer 2010 preview. As you can see there is absolutely NO BUFFALO PLAID here [thank God]. Lots of lightweight shirts and jackets for that easy warm and windy day. Everything is fairly streamline and understated, which is something that I've come to appreciate. A+

Tasteful Use of Autotune?

Yes it can still be done. I know we're all pretty tired of hearing everyone's phony robot voice, [you and i both] but I think one more song won't hurt us. Vampire Weekend's California English makes use of the software and I gotta say....they did a great job. As a side note, the album is on point. If you haven't picked up Contra then you most definitely need to do so.

BREAKING NEWS. Autotune has died. On December 31, 2009, Autotune suffered a wrongful death at the had of yours truly, Flavor Flav. Unfortunately, [once again] Flavor Flav has set black people back another 4 to 6 years. DAMN.

I'm Gettin Up

So school has finally started and I have to say that I'm not too excited about going back to college living. It's not all it's hyped up to be. HOWEVER, this does give me a chance to embark on a new project of mine. STICKER SLAPS. Reverting back to my amateur graffiti days [rest in peace] I've discovered that I too have the desire to get my name up. I don't know if I'm going to have them done professionally or if I'm just going to use my own printer and make it happen, but either way it will be done. SCOUTS HONOR.

Please Don't Do Cocaine

Heroine's okay though. KIDDING. All drugs are bad [take a look at exhibit A]. O do I miss the days when wrestlers were wrestlers instead of coke heads.
AND THE BEAT GOES ON.

Pendleton x Opening Ceremony

Classic Pendleton fabrics meets the streamline fits of Opening Ceremony. The collection includes everything you'll need this spring and summer, plus some. I don't know if it's the models, but the collection is looking pretty hardcore. I could see me in a few of the pieces, maybe you too?

I Appreciate It

I know everyone's tired of hearing the same old song and dance but I honestly hope everyone had/continues to have a great year. I dreamed up this blog all of four months ago and I'm proud to have you guys as a followers. To be honest I could care less about the numbers but more about the readers who AT LEAST care a little. It's a small small world and it's nice to have voice that's heard every once and a while.
I figured everyone'd like to see the face behind the message so I decided to do a search for a decent picture. justnorman.blogspot.com. Tell your friends about it.
